Awesome place to watch new release movies on a budget. Reasonable prices on tickets and concessions.
Most people who give this place a bad rating simply don't get it. Yes the screen is a little dark, yes sometimes a loud truck or car goes by, sometimes people bump their blinker or headlights, yes you sometimes hear a car door slam... All of these things are to be expected, it is part of the experience. I always tune in the radio rather than put the speaker in the window. The stereo in my truck drowns out all but the loudest of noise. The trick is to get here early, very early if possible, because the best spots fill up fast. Lay your seat back, bring your friends and loved ones, and enjoy a night like no other.
Had a fantastic time at joy-lan, like always last night. I grew up in a little town in Michigan that had a drive-in. When I moved away from that little town 12 years ago I thought I'd never see a another drive-in movie. I was over the moon when I found out that Dade City had one. And with working car speakers (our old theater had them in display in a small museum area of the snack shop). The picture is always good. The staff is always polite. The bathrooms are always clean. And the flea market is a great Sunday morning treat.
I am so glad this place is still around. Drive in, turn on the radio, and enjoy a movie experience like no other. The concession stand offers an amazing selection of different snacks, from soft pretzels, to cotton candy, to pizza, and most everything in between. The cost of admission hasn't changed in the twenty years I've been going.

Thursday is $5 car load day with flyer. Dogs allowed as long as they stay in car or bed of truck. Concession has all the goodies, but the popcorn was not like the cinema popcorn stale and too salty for me. Pizza and everything else is fine. Definitely nice to bring the kids to. Bathrooms are clean but hot and very small. There are about 6 rows with speakers but large enough to park anywhere and listen on the radio.
